Hmmm!!! Cataclysm Question

So this morning as I woke up I was thinking about the new xpac (I can't wait till it comes out), and I was thinking about all the changes that are going to happen to the old lands. Heres a question that I havent seen brought up yet, how much of the xpac will just be given for free to us and how much will we have to pay for.

If we are going to have to pay for all of it then what happens to the people who don't buy Cat, will they not be allowed to play because they don't have the new zone maps? or will blizzard give out atleast the map changes in a patch so that even if you don't buy the xpac you can still play. I'm prolly going to preorder it when Blizzard anounces a release date so this won't be a problem for me but from these forums it sounds lie there are a ton of people who wont buying it.

So how are they going to handle all the people who don't buy the xpac, are they just out in the cold when it's released? or is blizzard going to give them a gift by giving them something to keep them playing?

There are many details that are yet to be worked out, but we have always tried to make sure that when something changes the core game, it is available to everyone whether they have the expansion or not. Generally the things that aren't available are expansion specific additions such as the new races, new areas, and new dungeons.

When we have more details on how this will all work for you, we'll definitely be sure to share it with you.
