So my mate got an email 3am in the morning confirming that his WoW account had been merged with his b.net account. Thing is he dosen't have a b.net account. Ive been reading up on this the whole day and apparently many people are having the same problem, being ''hacked''. Firstly i don't think its possible that so many people are getting ''phished'' or keylogged, and the problem probably isn't with b.net. You can't get your account back via WoW password recovery either because you need to use the b.net account name you merged with to login.i don't think what people say are making sense either, keyloggers?phishing emails?PC security?..........can't possibly be happen to so many people all around the same time out of coincidence. Maybe a bug on blizzard's end? who knows. Anyhow, any of you fellow WoWers care to share your opinion on what this problem really is? Some blues would be nice too. P.S my english isn't that fantastic, please bear with me.

I'd sincerely encourage your friend to review our Account Compromise Info Center in full, Arcticshot. Within, he'll find all sorts of information that should help guide him through this recovery period.

Just to make things a bit easier, though:

In order to delink a WoW account from a B.net account, your friend will need to contact Billing & Account Services. Our representatives therein will be happy to help him regain access to his account.

In the meantime, you're welcome to submit a petition on his behalf should he not possess access to his account at this time. Within your petition, include the name and realm of a character on his main account and that you believe the account is compromised. For example: "I believe my friend's account was compromised this morning. He is unable to login and his password has been changed. A character on this account is <X> of <Y>. Thank you for any assistance you can lend." While he will need to follow up himself once access is restored, this can perhaps get the ball rolling.

Please have your friend go ahead and focus on securing his account and computer first, though. This is very important, as it can help prevent repeat compromise. Step-by-step instructions can be found in Twulf's post and in the following sticky:

Provided that he can take care of his account's security, we'll be happy to assist with any item or character recoveries. :)

Mondays are incredibly busy for our Billing & Account Services department, Arinelle. Encourage your fiancee to remain persistent and/or try again later. In the meantime, though, really focus on account security using the resources already provided within this thread. :)
