Servers Always Down, Patches Need Band Aids

As a network/server admin myself whom has worked with roll-out and migrations of software, I fail to see why a 5 hour window is needed for maintenance on -all- servers while a patch is in turn "re-patched" up.

I am dangerously assuming, since you're such a large game, that the patches are tested before release but how can their still be so many issues that have to be corrected. I work a full-time job and enjoy the minute number of times I get to play one of my favorite MMO's but it seems like anymore I am stuck watching you're team band aid problems that should of been fixed before they were released.

I am sure this has been beaten like a dead dog, but I pay you money to play/work on a video game that is a blast to play. Why is your staff having such a hard time keeping the game "live" anymore? You could sum this up with a single question....

"I am going to leave WoW and move back to Everquest or DaoC with min. player sizes just so I can play. What is Blizzard and their team of admins going to do to keep the servers up longer? Furthermore, how are they going to better test the patches to keep from having to "band aid" all sorts of problems?"

Those are the things I would like a -real- response for. I don't need a cookie-cutter "We're always trying to achieve 100% complete customer satisfaction" bull. Just want a good technical answer why that is either not possible, or how the policies are going to be modified to better help keep us WoW players doing what we do best...

Playing.
