I recently decided to re-activate my account but am having a problem. Upon logging into the account management area of the website, I am taken to a web page with the following:
This account has been permanently disabled. For more information please contact [email protected].
I have emailed the address early last week but have received no reply. Now, the account I am having an issue with is not the account I am posting this with. If I try to even log in to the forums with my "disabled" account, it tells me I am not allowed to post because of an inactive account. However, in attempting to log in to the forums, I believe I have discovered why my account was flagged as permanently disabled. After logging in to the forums (with the bad account info), it asks me to select a character to post as. The list of available characters is HUGE! I know I only created 5 of the 30-ish listed. My account has apparently been compromised.
In others' posts with this same problem, Blizzard reps have asked the user to scan their system for viruses and other male-ware. I have ran 4 different virus scans on my current setup even though I don't feel that would actually do much. I have not played WoW in 6-ish months and in that time, replaced my computer. The replaced, old computer is still in use by myself but both my new and old systems have been re-formatted so whatever software was used to discover my info shouldn't exist on my current systems. I actually JUST installed WoW on my new system last week and have since only played around with this trial account I am now using to post with.
I would like to know what could be done about this... I don't know if I am suppose to share my account name on here or not so I won't say it unless instructed by a Blizzard rep. But I do feel it safe to include my characters' names in this post (the characters that I made and rightfully own):

I am a bit worried that all my equipment is gone. I hope that something could be done about that too... but my hopes aren't high on that...
If I could get that account re-enabled, I will happily change my password and even convert it to a Battle.Net account.
