Hi I received an in game message from a player called Blizzcastl stating:

'Hi, Blizzard is about to launch a new mounts, Free trial, for more information, please log in: (website removed)'

I was suspicious because of the bad spelling and grammar and also because the player name had an l on the end, i'm assuming this is a scam, if not i'm sorry to blizzard but i havent heard anything about it and I just wanted to warn other players.

It is indeed a scam and if you could report that player ingame just as quickly as possible, it would be much appreciated. This is but one nefarious purpose stolen accounts are used for.

Not only would we never go around blindly messaging about that sort of thing even if it were true (it's not), we would never direct you to a site not our own (and I'll guarantee you you that one wasn't).

Also, if a Game Master ever messages you ingame, there is a little blue Blizzard logo by our name.

Thanks!
