Algalon Loot taken Away

My guild killed Algalon this week on Aug 13 around 7 to 8 pm est. We killed him as he ascended, so the raid was wiped, but his chest spawned, he did his rp event and several members got their achievements.

The chest was unlootable. As the leader of the raid I immediately put a ticket in. It took a full day for a gm to respond in an email. I got the following email.

We have looked into the situation and unfortunately, the reimbursement you requested is no longer available. Remember that restorations or exchanges of any kind are not always guaranteed. We sincerely apologize for any inconvenience you may have been caused.

We urge you to contact the Game Master department as soon as a loot issue is encountered as this would result in a better chance for restoration.

I am not sure how much sooner I need to put a ticket in, I guess more than 60 seconds is too much. I and the rest of my guild would appreciate being rightfully awarded our loot.
