Quel'Serrar

First off I would like to state I am very happy that Onyxia will be returning to current content, it is nice to see something that was a big icon of vanilla WOW getting an up (and I'm even happier to hear that her current loot tables aren't changing but being beefed up and still keeping with the old look ^__^)

With that said this brings me to the question, what of Foror's Compendium of Dragon Slaying. (For the convenience of those who do not know of said book or it's worth I point you to http://www.wowhead.com/?item=18401)

ANd for those that don't want to click ,this book, which drops from Dire Maul starts a chain quest which at it's end ask that the Brood mother Onyxia heat the weapon and then you are to kill her with the heated weapon to finish the quest, after doing so you return to the book worm who gifts you with Quel'Serrar, a then lvl 60 epic item with awesome looking design, and for it's time sweet stats.

I know for some of you, you won't care, but my question is what becomes of this? I was most thrilled when in a DM run with friends it dropped and I won the roll thinking to my self "I'll give it to my pally who can get it once she gets up in lvls"

But with the changing of Onyxia to a lvl 80 instance run will I lose that chance? (or rather shall I then have to wait until lvl 80 to do so?) Or does the Dev team plan on beefing up Quel'Serrar for those that get the book later, or will this item simply become gray :( -would make me a sad panda...- Or is there something else in store for this item?

TLDR: There is no "To Long Didn't Read" for this topic. ^++^

The Quel'Serrar will continue to exist... in one form or another. The compendium of dragonslaying may not be so fortunate.

I think he is implying that there will no longer be a way to obtain the old one, only some new version

The tier 2 helms aren't the only models we wanted to reuse, that's all I'm saying.

On a slightly same topic:

What about Onyxia Scales? The Ony Scale Cloak is still a very important item to have for people interested in toying with BWL. Will the new Onyxia still drop her scales?

What if the shadow flame dot wasn't an issue?

This brings up an interesting question, does this mean the Scepter of the Shifting Sands questline won't be doable anymore?

We haven't made a decision on what we will do with the chapter of Draconic for Dummies, that Onyxia currently drops for this quest.
