Q u o t e:
For example, on Tuesday if we reactivate Ulduar 10 with Algalon up then we zone in, kill algalon, then zone out on the same day, can we remove the ID then start Ulduar fresh on that same Tuesday?
Q u o t e:
Would the button to remove the extension work?
Q u o t e:
If we zoned into last week's Ulduar with bosses already killed, then attempted Algalon for an hour with no kill, then zoned out, would it be possible to remove the extension? Or would we be prompted that Ulduar is already in progress and we would be saved for 2 weeks total without any possibility to remove the extension? Thanks again for your assistance.

Q: What happens if a player extends their instance lock accidentally? Can an instance lock extension be removed?
A: Yes, a player may remove an instance lock extension at any point during the normal lockout period. Once the normal lockout period expires, though, a player may only remove a lock extension provided that he or she does not get saved to the instance after extending. To become saved to an extended instance lock, a player must either participate in a boss kill or zone into the instance after a boss has been killed; simply zoning into a newly extended instance or killing active trash mobs will not cause a player to become saved.
If a player attempts to enter an instance with a lock extension and will become saved to the instance as a result of entering it, he or she should receive the following message: "You have entered an instance that you will be locked to in <x> seconds" and the option to "Accept" or "Leave Instance." This message will also appear if a player attempts to remove an instance lock extension while still inside the newly extended instance.

Based on that text, it seems that if you were able to get to Algalon, you would have at least had to kill XT, which means that merely zoning in to the instance to fight Algalon would save you to the instance for the week (even if you killed XT in the previous week), preventing you from removing the lock extension.
