XP Battlegrounds Down or Something?

ok, so im on my lvl 53 hunter....i go to stormwind to change my XP gains from pve to pvp...i query for all battlegrounds that i can (WSG, AB, AV), it says unavailable to all of them....than, i wonder...so i change my XP gains back to pve from pvp...i re-query...and it works.....its somethings wrong with XP battlegrounds?
