My other account was recently hacked and was merged with the hackers battlenet account. Is there any way to unmerge the accounts so I can log in? Any help is appreciated, thanks!

Absolutely, Blooficus. You will need to contact our Billing Department during the week. Once you have verified that you are the registered user of the account they should be able to unmerge your World of Warcraft account with the Battle.net account.

You can call 1 (800) 592 5499 (1-800-59-BLIZZARD) Monday through Friday 8AM-8PM (PDT) for live representation.
Australian users should please call 1-800-041-378 if the standard 800 line does not work.

You should also check your system to make sure it is secure.

Once you have regained access to your account check to see if any of your characters are missing gold/items, if so report it via an in-game petition. Your case can be forwarded for investigation.

Does anyone notice this is happening to alot more ppl?

Happened to me yesterday..

The numbers actually haven't increased all that much. Our Compromise Investigation queue has actually decreased over the last month or so.

It looks like there are more than there are because over the weekend those who have lost control of their accounts are unable to contact Billing immediately. I hate to see that anyone has been compromised though. :(

I really don't know much, but it doesn't make sense that so many people are getting "hacked" through this Battle.net account merging.

No one is getting hacked through battle.net account merging. What is happening is that someone is acquiring their account information, either through a phishing e-mail, tricking them into following a bad link, etc. . . .

Once they have their account name and password they use that information to merge the account into a B.net account.

Q u o t e:

Does this make it obvious that there is some flaw in the battle.net account merging and perhaps it should be shut down until YOUR guy's security updates? Sorry, I'm not willing to accept that it's security problems on our end.

Then you will continually be at risk. Our security is just fine.

It's also funny that this is showing up a lot after this post:

"...Players who have not merged their account with a Battle.net account will..."
and this message regards the submitting of system information....... is information getting intercepted?

One has absolutely nothing to do with the other.

Account has now been banned because of the hacker using bots and hacks on my account? No hope left. :(

Who said there is no hope left, Umbrawl? We are aware that the people who compromise an account may do something that is against the Terms of Use.

Contact the Billing Department during the week, verify that you are the registered user on the account, they may be able to unmerge your account from that Battle.net account immediately. The account closure may also be looked into.
