New BG = Alliance Favoritism AGAIN

I played Isle of Conquest on the ptr and saw things before they changed but since its been released on live, ive seen something that greatly discourages me from playing this battleground.

When the two teams start, the majority of horde and alliance go to the hangar to get the airship. EVERY TIME the alliance is always there before horde because their travel time is shorter to the flag. So when horde arrive we have to deal with 20 people already around the flag and fight our way in. If horde doesnt push full force and pop all cd's then the chances of us winning go down considerably.

This type of map favoritism is the same thing in AV where the alliance can just ride into horde's keep avoiding elite npc's and taking out towers before we're even in their base. I had hoped that blizzard had learned the error of AV and made efforts to not make another map that was favored to either side, but this new battleground has proven my assumption false.

I would like a civil conversation about this new battleground and how its too focused on Airship=Win and its just another race to kill the other factions leader, while watering down the pvp experience.

When designing this Battleground, we very carefully laid out the map to ensure that the travel time to the key capture points is exactly the same. The distances were calculated and tested for the Horde and Alliance to keep them equivalent.

with all do respect, I don't think so.

AB is the same, just not as huge a difference. Alliance to Stabs is about 2 seconds(by mount)
faster then Horde to farm. Not that it really matters, just splitting hairs.

I don't understand. It sounds as though you're respectfully saying I'm lying or that I don't know what I'm talking about, then backing that up with Arathi Basin evidence.

I just looked at the IoC map. You call that an even distance?

Are you sure of the even distance Zarhym? Have you tested it yourself?

It may not look exactly even on the map. Fortunately World of Warcraft isn't a 2-dimensional world.

not saying you're deceiving, just giving personal experience. Most battlegrounds have been unbalanced for years. Its not your fault, just saying.

Its something we have to live with, just a game afterall.

Also respectfully, it took you guys 4 years to admit vanish is broken.

This thread is about Isle of Conquest and the perception that we have implemented an advantage for one faction over the other. Stay on topic please.

Terribly sorry, I was trying to say that sometimes the higher-ups have changed their minds on things. So it's entirely possible that you will see that the map is imbalanced at a later date.

Also, I don't want to overstep my bounds so apologies ahead of time.

We have made mistakes in the past. The reason why I responded to this thread was to let players know that, from the very conception of this Battleground, it was laid out, designed and tested to ensure that the travel times to the capture points were equivalent. Since the terrain layout is one of the first things to get designed, the travel times around the map were always a main point of consideration when developing Isle of Conquest.

I would be willing to be a large amount of gold that the majority of blizzard employees play alliance. I have nothing to back that up with, just a hunch but im rarely wrong on hunches.

...And I hadn't given my temples a good massage in at least an hour.
