How long does it take to recover an account?

Hi GM,

My friend account had been compromised and his charaters were deleted by hacker on 8 July.
It has been around 3 weeks already and he still have not got any update back.

This forum is actively monitored by GM so can you please help to check that my friend's account is in recovery process.

We know that it take sometime to process our request but 3 weeks are a bit too long.
We would like to get an update whether his account is still being reviewed ?

It looks as if an e-mail was sent to your friend's registered e-mail address regarding this issue over two weeks ago, Bowling. You may want to ask your friend if he received this e-mail.

Did he receive the e-mail on 7/8 entitled "World of Warcraft - Account Recovery Instructions?"

My apologies for the delay, Bowling & Uhara.

I see that you've mentioned that the Account Recovery e-mail was received, but have you taken the time to complete the steps included therein? Once you've sent the appropriate information to [email protected], they'll gladly look into restoring access to your account.

I apologize for any confusion, but the restoration e-mail you received was not meant to indicate that access was restored to the account and you no longer needed to complete the recovery steps included in the recovery e-mail. This e-mail was sent solely to tell you that they have completed the restoration portion of the investigation.

Let me know if you have any further questions.
