Biggest flaw.

I imagine that there's been threads like this before, but I'm interested to know what people think WoW's biggest flaw is.

Having been a big UO fan, I'd vote that the focus on items and upgrades is a big flaw. I really liked the lawless PvP of old UO, where the guy who is helping you one moment might be looting everything you were carrying the next moment.

Everyone had the same crappy vendor-bought gear for the most part. PvP was all about skill and ping time.

Q u o t e:
Releasing difficult content and then nerfing it because people need to think, learn, and improve themselves in minor ways.

It's a game. People play this game to have fun. When players run into what they perceive to be a brick wall, in many cases their immediate reaction is, "Well, I'm never doing that again". People then turn away from that content. At that point, we've set the bar to high. Adjustments need to made so that players feel they have a fighting chance.

For the many hardcore players who enjoy World of Warcraft, this isn't an issue. They understand the fundamental mechanics of the game and are fairly aware of what is going on during any portion of an encounter. To these players, it is simply a matter of adjustment to "get the fight down". However, for players who don't understand the premise of the fight from the ground up, it's not just about moving earlier or compensating for latency. To these players, it's a matter of being unable to progress. The answer is the aforementioned adjustments. This is an issue we hope to address with the upcoming heroic settings in the Crusaders' Coliseum.
