Why isn't phasing tech used more?

When Wrath first came out we repeatedly heard about how great phasing is and how it can make things so magical and unique and allow things never before done. For the most part it was used once in TBC for that daily quests who's name I forgot, and all of two areas of Wrath. Those being the DK starting area, and some area in icecrown where the Argent Crusade is doing something.

There hasn't been much additional content worthy of notoriety, but there are a few thigns it could have been used for, but naturally as one might have expected wasn't.

Herein lay a few spoilers from the WoW Comic;

So the Missing Diplomat quest line, at one point it seemed like it was pretty much the CENTRAL human storyline quest in the game, the king had been kidnapped by criminals, and the kingdom was being manipulated by a dragon disguised as a human. Surely this quest must end with awesomeness?

Nope. You end up catching some dude in theramore and jaina proudmore says what a mounts to 'we'll take care of this' and you teleport away, never to hear about it other than one small quests in which there are defias around shipwreckage and you have to go hurt them a bunch.. but it doesnt' really tie in all that well'.

Fast forward 2+ years and the king is magically standing back in stormwind with some huge throne and absolutely no explanation as to how he got back, at least to players in the game.

Turns out there were a lot of cool things that happened with the storyline for that quest, the problem is that they only occurred in the comic books (which are really good, by the way) . Most of these events could have been made into quests to bring closure to that storyline using Phasing technology, and they would have undoubtedly been some of the most awesome alliance quests to ever be incorporated into the game, ever. Instead they occured only in the comics. Escorting windsor one last time could have been an instance phased quests in which you and the king, go around BRD, kicking @$$ and taking names, and then marching through stormwind to retake the crown, ending with a 5 man version of onyxia (re-using old locations what a freaking concept..)

instead it occurs only in the comic. of which the game storyline takes into account.

So much potential, wizzed away.

Anyway there's my emo phasing rant.

It's probably a good thing I'm not going to blizzcon, I'd probably get all emo and critisizing the hell out of various developers.

All I can say is that I have never seen someone 'drop the ball' harder or faster than it was dropped there.

You have an amazing technology which can add a vast amount of potential to the game. You blathered on and on about how great it was, but you are not using it.

Get it together, really, and it's not just about the epic fail that was the missing diplomat, there is abo%!!#ely no reason that just because we're in the 'magic rainbow land and flowers expansion' for exmaple that everything has to occur specifically in that area, add things to the old locations too, re-use space, use space you've been wasting for 4 years. auugghh.

We love this technology and only want to continue to create ways in which to use it to maximize the experiences that players will have in the game with it. We are being careful to put it to its best use, but that also means knowing the right time and places to use it. If we use it too much and incorrectly, it will become cliche and lose its magic.

I've got High Tinkerer Mekkatorque on the phone for you, Ms. Candle. He'd like to speak with you about a realestate opportunity. A real fixer-upper.

I hear real estate flipping is risky business these days. ;)
