Recruit-a-Friend Account Creation error 202

I have invited my friend to WoW via the Recruit-a-Friend option, but everytime they input their key (which was generated in the email sent to them) they get the following error:

An error has Occurred on this page We are sorry but there was a problem processing your account (ERROR 202). Please contact our billing and account services by email ([email protected]) or via phone (1-800-59-BLIZZARD).

I read elsewhere that Error 202 usually refers to credit card difficulties, but as they are not even entering credit card details it's unlikely it's that.

Any suggestions? We are trying to do this from Singapore, if that makes any difference.

Your location should not play a factor; however, it sounds as if we're having some difficulties processing your friend's request. You may want to have your friend contact our Billing Department during normal business hours using one of the following numbers to see if they are able to assist with the account creation process:

Billing and Account Services
    Live Representatives Available Mon-Fri, 8am to 8pm PST
    For phone assistance please call: 1 (800) 592-5499 || 1 (800) 59-BLIZZARD
    • Players in Australia should call 1-800-041-378
    • Players in Singapore should call 800-2549-9273
    • Players in Chile should call 1230-020-5554
    • Players in Mexico should call 001-888-578-7628

Q u o t e:
Thanks Aredek! Unfortunately that Singapore number is invalid. Is there a valid number for here we could call?

I believe the number is valid; however, you will need to dial the country code as well. Try calling:

001 + 1 + 800-2549-9273

Please be aware, however, that our Billing Department will not be open for a little more than 24 hours.

Cell phones are notorious for 800 numbers not working properly internationally.

Many of our international customers have reported good results and many savings from programs such as Skype. Maybe something to look into if you need to call.
