The other day out of frustration, I yelled "damn horde infestation" in Dalaran. I play a lot of Alliance charatcer's , and I have noticed the realms are over populated with horde character's. Ask me if I want some cheese with my wine. I don't care. This over population of horde creates an unbalanced playing experience for myself, and many others. I know Blizzard can't do anything if all the kiddeis want to play the horde. But this is not even really the issue.

After I yelled out "damn horde infeststion", a gm started monitoring my chat. He told me to watch my cussing. My response was to use the language filter if you don't want to see it. The trade chat on my server is filled with offensive cussing. Using the word damn is not offensive. In fact.....I have found several references to the word in the game content. For instance Tirith the Damned in the Blasted Lands. If the word damn is acceptable as part of the game content, then why am I being harassed for using it too?

There is also a sword that drops regularly is Elwynn, called The crude bastard sword. Is the word bastard acceptable? If words are used in the game content, then I believe they should be acceptable.Any feedback would be nice. Has anyone else been harassed for using words that we hear on public tv everyday? It's not like I use raunchy offensive language.

I've reviewed the conversation in question, and fortunately, you were never contacted by a Game Master regarding this situation, at all.

To be honest, I'm not sure where you got the impression that the player that asked you to modify your speech was a Game Master, but that simply was not the case. You were contacted by another player that asked you (unnecessarily, as what you said was fine) to modify your speech, that's all.

Moreover, the word 'damn', by itself, isn't likely at all to generate a policy violation, so you should have nothing to worry about.

I hope that helps put an end to this debate, and helps set your mind at ease.
