If you were a GM/Blizz employee....

Would you tell your normal guild/friends that you play with?

I don't think I would...you'd be the first person bombarded with "Hey, I'm stuck..help me pl0x!" and "Can you make sure that item-X drops in the raid tonight? lolol..."

I'm pretty sure it would be a constant torture session, rather than an "E-peen" booster, or Cool-factor/popularity enhancer.

Pretty sure it would just be a terrible idea. And I wouldn't be surprised if Blizzard didn't have some sort of confidentiality agreement prohibiting GMs and other employees from telling their 'normal' players/friends that they are in fact employed by Blizzard.

Disclaimer: This thread is under the hypothetical situation under which no NDA exists for Blizzard employees, specifically of the Customer Service variety.

Normal ones? Definitely not, but I would consider doing it for the abnormal ones after awhile.

And that's when you start abusing GM powers (although I'm not sure if CMs actually have access to those).

We play completely like any other player, no short cuts allowed!

Q u o t e:
Now here's the real question...

Your RL friends have to know what you do for a living, right?

Are *they* allowed to know? I mean, what if they "accidently" spill the beans to your guild? I mean, it would be kinda crappy of your employer to say that you couldn't play this fun game with your friends... or do you just make sure you have something to use as leverage? ~_^

There definitely are people who know where I work as playing with friends is a big part of the game. Thankfully none of my friends are foolish enough to try doing anything like yelling it out at the top of their lungs, they actually want to remain friends instead. :)

Bornakk, what do you say when players in game trash blizzard? Do you just go along with it?

lol

Q u o t e:
Do you "work" while you play? I mean collect feedback, pay attention to the community, and deliver that sort of stuff to the developers?

Absolutely, being part of the community while people are playing is a great source for understanding how people feel about the game.

How often do you get the "Bornakk said......" or a "that Bornakk is a ......" in game?

Not too often, but it's utterly hilarious when it does happen.

Q u o t e:
Regular Bornakk maybe discreet about his job.

But what about "its been a long week, I am just going to have one beer which turns into a twelve pack and now I am singing on ventrillo" Bornakk?

There are several other requirements that must be met before I would be caught singing.
