Blizzard must be prepared to IGNORE QQ

For several classes and specs, there are aspects that are flawed and in some cases downright broken. Logic would dictate these should be fixed, but the biggest problem currently holding back progress on these comes from the community itself.

Instead of focusing on how things should be fixed, it will almost always devolve into a shouting match between classes. Personal hate and old rivalries slow down progress in fixing the real issues more than anything else, because something that might conceivably fix a longstanding problem on one spec will be shouted down because of personal bigotry and perceived slights from other classes, real or imagined. There is really nothing that can be done about this, some grudges never truely die.

By all means, Blizzard should pay attention to the community. But some cases it pays too much attention to the wrong problems, and this causes the real problems to remain unanswered.

There will always be people who will threaten to quit and so on if they don't get what they want. Most of the time they are full of it, and in the rare cases they do, they will almost always be back as they have such a large stake in the game already.

In order for real balance to be implemented, Blizzard will need to do what must be done in order to reach that goal. If the community makes a stink about it for personal reasons or because of percieved unfairness, it needs to be ignored. They might be cross for a bit, but I guarentee you they'd be alot happier in the end if results clearly showed these necessary changes actually helped balance things instead of tweak them a certain way.

We pay attention to the community. If you read many of these threads, you will see many assertions that we don't pay enough attention to the communuity. :)

These forums are a valuable source of information, but they are not our only source of information. You should also not equate the official forums as being the WoW community. The latter is far larger.

The best discussions on these boards come when you actually listen to what other players have to say instead of just trying to shout them down in your quest for buffs or nerfs. Really listen to that guy from another class who comes into your thread instead of just dismissing him as a jerk who automatically disagrees with you just because he doesn't want to see your class buffed.
