Waiting to upgrade your mount till 3.2?

I am. I hit 77 on my death knight almost a month ago and took to farming the Argent Tournament dailies on my main. I've not played my death knight since. Not only could I not afford flight, epic flight, and cold weather flying at the time I hit 77, I'm cheap and want to wait for the discounts since I'm exalted with the necessary faction.

Of course, now that I've gotten into the Argent Tournament stuff, I'm trying to get exalted with all the necessary factions to access the new 3.2 dailies at the tournament grounds.

It's great fun doing starting zones with a level 80 character for reputation. :p

I have a bit of work cut out for me. The closest I am to exalted is with Stormwind. I'm just under half way through revered. Meanwhile, I'm about 25% through honored with the Exodar.

In retrospect, I wish I had started by championing the factions with whom my reputation is lowest so I could be turning in writs to them this whole time and get some spill over for the others.

I've yet to do the night elf and draenei starting areas though, so that'll make a big difference.

I'm just really cheap. I don't get too much time to play during the week, so I figure if I spend my time grinding dailies and reputation, things will work out better for my death knight and main. Even if I could easily make up the difference during this time, it still means losing a good chunk of gold.

I'd love to have mounts from every faction since it ties into grinding the AT dailies anyway. It's something I never really considered feasible for me in the past. It'd also be awesome to get a Mechano-hog one day, which, given my play time, I certainly wrote off a while ago. :p

Even a CM can't afford epic flying. I still say 5,000g is too much, even with the upcoming faction discounts.

I had enough for regular flying and cold weather flying already, but was just short of epic flying. It only took me a couple of weeks at the Argent Tournament to earn enough gold, but I'm still holding off until 3.2. ;)

Valiance Expedition. If you're Alliance, the flight trainers for Honor Hold and Valiance Expedition should both offer both flight skills. So being exalted with Valiance Expedition is enough to receive discounts for both flying skills.

Of course I'll be sad if someone proves me wrong on this given that I have direct access to the developers that implemented these mount changes. :p
