If you can't connect to WOW or log into worldofwarcraft.com and/or the log in hangs at Authenticating or Connecting try this:

WINDOWS Users with admin rights
1.) Find and click the Run command from your Start Menu
2.) type CMD and select OK or press enter (Vista Users type CMD in the Start Search box)
3.) on the command line type: IPCONFIG /FLUSHDNS
4.) press enter then close the command prompt box and try to connect via launcher or wow.exe
5.) prevail

MAC Users (10.5x)
1.) Click on your Hard Drive Icon
2.) Locate your Applications and open Utilities
3.) activate your terminal
4.) type: dscacheutil -flushcache
5.) press enter and close your terminal and try to connect via launcher or wow.exe
6.) prevail

Hope this works for everyone

PS: It seems non battle.net accounts need to have their DNS information flushed.

If you are unable to successfully connect after flushing your DNS as Chilene has suggested, please try power cycling your modem and router. For detailed steps on how best to do this, please review the following article:

Thank you all for your patience! Please let me know the results!

You have my utmost apologies if you think that we are trying to "blame" you, Valynon. We are, rather, trying to gain an understanding as to what troubleshooting steps have been attempted in and effort to identify the root cause of this issue.

As Krem has mentioned, she's able to log into her account from one computer in her household, but not another. Accordingly, it seems as if continued difficulties are the result of individual computer settings (hardware, software, or otherwise), but we have not yet ruled anything out.

It appears that the overarching issue that prevented a large number of players from authenticating has seemingly been resolved as a majority of players are now able to connect without issue. Rest assured I'll do whatever I can to help the rest of you get connected as well!

Krem has reported (in another thread) that they are able to connect after running the repair utility (Repair.exe) found within your World of Warcraft folder. If you are still experiencing lasting difficulties, please give this a shot and let us know the results.

Thanks!
