Am I the only one mad here? I'm mostly concerned about the level decrease to have a flying mount, normal land, and epic land. It disgusts me. Putting alot of my time into getting to 70 so I can fly around then have it reduced latter on? Thats just pathetic Blizzard. Its not that I didn't stop playing at 70, I havn't been on in a long time. I would like to enjoy WotLK. Im just saying that getting your flying is a huge part of the game, that should require more time and effort to get to. I understand if you have alts that you want to get mounts for but consider what you had to do on your main and alts before the patch.

Read on before you comment on this.

If you have already purchased these items and used them, then this in no way infringes on you, or your personal accomplishments. This change allows you to now utter the phrase: "Remember when flying mounts were level 70+ and we had to walk both ways up hill in the snow?"

Sure, and remember when being a doctor required lots of work to become competent? Making it easier now doesn't take away accomplishment of those who had to work twice as hard and put in twice the time, but get paid the same.

Nope, all the people I know in premed are more swamped now than many generations in the past have been. As our knowledge of the human system expands, so too does the depth of the training that these medical professionals have to endure.

Oh wait, was that supposed to be analogous to the situation at hand?

Both doctors are going to be working in the same ER, both drive the same year model and make of the Porsche 911, but the younger doctor happened to buy that Porsche 3 years later. Obviously, the doctor who bought it 6 months after its street date paid more, while the younger doctor paid a bit less.

And by the way Mr. Blizzard rep, making something easier/cheaper does affect the value of that item/accomplishment. If you bought a house for 300k and now all neighborhood houses that look the same for 100k, what just happened to value of your house? What about if you buy a 40k cadillac only to find out that new ones sell for 10k next year... your prestige just went down the toilet.

People worked asses off to get mounts, giving it away in essence diminish the sense of accomplishment, especially since there is no way to tell if your mount old or new.

Perhaps if there was some way to resell or exchange these mounts, this next analogy would be more applicable. If people are using mounts as a status symbol, then they must be sorely upset by the abundant proliferation of epic flyers which occurred with the release of Wrath of the Lich King. Also, keep in mind that the cost of Artisan Riding has not been changed, nor has the level at which it can be attained. It is, however, subject to a faction discount, but the amount needed to attain the skill is still far from trivial.

Mounts have always been a means to an end - mobility. We simply don't feel that it is necessary to hold this mobility back for players who are entering content that is no longer heavily populated. In essence, we are helping people get to where the other people are. This is a service for everyone.
