I received an email from Bliizzard on Saturday which contained the

****** "We have determined that the World of Warcraft account ********** has been accessed by someone not authorized to do so by the World of Warcraft Terms of Use (http://www.worldofwarcraft.com/legal/termsofuse.html).

To protect your privacy and security, we have temporarily disabled this account. Any recurring subscriptions have been suspended to prevent further monetary charges. In order to regain access to the account, you must complete the steps below to secure the account and verify your identity." ********

When I log into World of Warcraft I am directed to a link which opens up a page at worldofwarcraft.com that says "Your account has been permanently disabled"

I have narrowed the only possibility to a patch I downloaded while recently installing world of warcraft. the patch was 3.0.9 to 3.1.0 and was downloaded from a mirror site from www.wowwiki.com . This is the ONLY non-trusted file I had downloaded since re-formatting the system 2 days prior.

No one else has access to any of my passwords or any part of my computer whatsoever

I have sent the email reply verifying my computer and emails are secure.
The steps I took to secure my system are as follows:

1) I reformated my hard-drive
2) I changed all of my passwords (in email, and everything else)
3) I reformatted my hard drive a second time

I have since Armory'd my main Level 80 character on Anvilmar-US named "Ursolace" a level 80 Human Paladin.

All of this character's worn gear is missing, save for badge gear ( which cannot be sold)
-This character also had 2700 Gold
-This character had approximately 800-1000g worth of items in the bank (dont really care about this stuff)

2 of my alts on the server Doomhammer-US also suffered from having their gear missing in the armory (its a safe assumtion that it has been sold).

Also, one of these alts, a level 73 Human Priest on Doomhamer-US named Singularis has raided the guild bank of <ARG> on that server. Thjs information was told to me by way of guild website.

My questions are as follows:
-What can I do to expedite the response to these actions?
-Is there any chance of getting the gear worn by the level 80 character returned to me?
-Is there any chance of getting the gold on this level 80 character returned to me?

Thank you for any help you may provide me, and I would appreciate a "blue" response if one is available

Thank you

Ursolace
<LVL 80 Human Paladin / Anvilmar-US>

I am very sorry to hear you are going through this Astro.

This account was used for malicious purposes, that's why it's locked.

You need to find the security breech and amend it, that's vital so this cannot happen again. Trust me, if they CAN get back in, they WILL be back.

These two stickies should prove useful.

You'll of course also want to contact Account Administration about this at wowaccountadmin@blizzard.com.

In reporting the compromise, it will be important to also mention there is guild bank involvement here. That will be most helpful to the specialist when they work this up for you.

I do wish you the very best.

Q u o t e:
My mom's account says closed when she logs on. But when she logs on to her account manger it says permanently disable.

Please don't bump 6 month posts.

But contacting Account Administration is still the proper course under these circumstances, as well as checking system security.
