Then I couldn't remember what type of crab it was. Then I thought thing I was thinking of was Shrimpoluminescence, now I think it's a crab again, but I can't remember anything because my brain's too preoccupied with what a silly concept shrimpoluminesence is.
Snapping shrimp can temporarily stun prey items by snapping their claws. You can hear them underwater along some rocky shores. You are thinking of a genus such as Alpheus.
Some deep-sea shrimp can produce a luminescent cloud, presumably as an escape mechanism against predators. Look up nylon shrimp such as Heterocarpus or the deep sea shrimp Acanthephyra.
No crabs off the top of my head do either, but it's not a stretch to imagine some could.
