What's with the DK mathematicians?

What is with all the DKs analyzing every aspect of the tanking classes to demonstrate how they will be slightly underpowered in 3.2?

They are going over every bit of information to show that they are almost equal except Warriors and Paladin have block and they don't, so they need something to make up for it. Complaining that we can mitigate a couple % more damage over the course of a boss fight.

What I don't understand is that when Warriors and Paladin were doing the SAME thing a couple months ago 95% of the DK community on this forum responded with either "STFU" or "Warriors aren't DKs, different classes are different"... So why is it now that YOU think YOU might be underpowered game balance to a tenth of a percentage point is now incredibly important to you?

When Warriors and Paladin were complaining the discrepancy in tank balance with DKs was MUCH MUCH worse than its gonna be for you in 3.2.

I'm not saying you don't have a legitimate concern but when the tabled were turned most of you not only didn't care you actively trolled the forum to say Warriors and Paladin we're just QQers.

Q u o t e:
Relative popularity is a relevant consideration when trying to figure out whether a class is overpowered/underpowered. When raid compositions shift over time (e.g. shaman, mages in Sunwell) that can be a clue that there's a class balance problem. (Of course balancing this way means you're always a day -- or several months -- late.) The high end guilds are the canaries in the coal mine in this regard. I'm sure they watch the composition of those raids pretty closely.

But it's only a factor, not the determining factor. You'd be crazy to ignore it. I'm pretty confident that this is the way they view it.

There is a lot of truth here.

Note however that even though they might be in the best position to swap out for any class when needed, high end guilds are some of the most willing to make what they have work, because that's the way they've always done it. Many would rather beat a hard mode boss with their existing players in place rather than kick an old friend from a raid or ask someone to reroll. Now, they'll do it if they see no other alternative, but overall I would not make too much out of the class or spec choices of the best guilds in the world.

Their goal is to be beat the content as fast as they can, not come up with most effective way to beat the content. They do what works for them, not what is the most optimized of all possible solutions.
