Ok, where to start...Firstly, this is not the account affected.
I was playing WoW about 6 hours ago, left to do things, came back around 10 P.M. pacific. I tried to log onto my death knight, and was disconnected at the loading screen about three times. I didn't even think someone was logging onto my account and I googled the problem I was having expecting a technical error, I didn't find anything to try and attempted to log back on about 5 minutes later. My account information was incorrect.

My draw dropped and I stared at the screen for a couple minutes (the thought of losing an account with hundreds of days of playing time can make that happen). I went to the WoW website and went to retrieve my password from the battle.net page (account was merged) I entered all my info and I was back into WoW. I told everyone I knew the story, then went to do 2s.

Seconds into our first game I was disconnected first thing I thought was 'my internet went out' (profanity excluded). Attempting to log back in, my account info was incorrect, went through the process of resetting my password again, figuring some program was hacking into my account in some way, having no clue how to stop it (this made me smile at being suspended, actually).

I got an email saying that Blizzard suspended my account because it was compromised etc. (I actually got an email saying that a while ago, which I foolishly disregarded) I've never given anyone my account information and I have Norton up 24/7, so I have no clue what this is.

All I'm looking for is some help on stopping this from possibly happening once my account is reopened 24 hours from now, any posters (other than the lulz u r nub ones of course) would be appreciated.

Ask for additional related information and I'll be happy to give it.

I really cannot advise you on scanners, Watch.

These two links are what we recommend. If you have a particularly hard to detect or remove malware application on your system, it would be something I'd strongly consider.

If your account has been suspended, you are going to want to write Account Administration on that, have them review things - and of course report this as well. wowaccountadmin@blizzard.com

If they changed your email, that would be one of the first steps in getting this sorted out. You can contact Billing for help with that if need be.

I'd also highly recommend at the very least, changing you email password once you are certain your system is secure. Some folks go ahead and make a totally new, unrelated email address for just their WoW account. If you merge to a Battle.net account, you could also use that new address for your account ID and pick a brand new security question and answer. It is important that the security of your system be certain before going any farther - if they can still get back in, they most certainly will.

I do wish you all the very best.
