I want to recruit a friend of mine to WoW.

He used to play, so he already has the game (Vanilla and Burning Crusades) on his PC. How would he create an account via RAF but use the game that is already installed on his PC?

He doesn't need new software. He would, however, need to make a new account using the RAF link and he would have to get the codes all over again.

While you’re friend is more than welcome to make use of the RAF program, Erithar, he will have to purchase a new account to do so. He will not have to re-install the game on his system, as any account can play from a computer that has the game installed, but if the triple experience bonus is what you two seek, then I am afraid a new account will be required.

If your friend is not wanting to start over, then I would suggest taking a look at the Scroll of Resurrection program: (https://www.worldofwarcraft.com/account/resurrect-a-friend.html).

On a related note, when following the link sent in the Email using RAF, the recruit was never prompted to create an account. Where do you do this?

That e-mail should have had a trial CD Key "Guest Pass Key" can be entered here: (https://signup.worldofwarcraft.com/menu.html) to create a new account, Erithar.
