Obligatory...posting from a different account because I'm banned. I decide, hey it would be cool to reactivate my account and start slowly leveling on my bad computer so when I get a good computer I can fully play without having to level on it...Enter CC # reactivate...Account was FROZEN from the last time I let my time run out...no compromise. I log into WoW jump around Ironforge/Stormwind change a few characters go afk for a few minutes come back and "disconnected - banned"

Reactivating my account from the SAME computer, SAME isp, SAME CC name and company with a new number due to card updating has resulted in "An investigation of the World of Warcraft account ****** has produced evidence that the account has been accessed by someone who is not allowed to use it. The account has been issued a 24-hour suspension to provide you with an opportunity to secure and regain access to it."

Blah blah blah, no, no one else has used it or accessed it.

"A new, randomly-generated password will be emailed to you shortly. Has never happened, still accessing account through same username/password

Account management 2 days later still with no response. I'm all for a company sucking my money away from me but this is thievery and unacceptable. I'm pretty sure I could have waited online to cancel all of my credit cards and had them replaced quicker than this. If you don't have enough people hire more...you aren't lacking on subscriptions with as many as you keep milking in by allowing multi boxing and cheesing the game down.

Slashmoo, you are greatly mistaken so I'll thank you to please not comment on our hiring or pay since you obviously have no access to any actual facts.

I understand your frustration but if you wish to receive assistance I suggest you post asking for assistance instead of simply posting insults.

Please let me know which activity you decide on.

Q u o t e:
Facts are my account is banned for no real reason, the followups and durations are wrong and the email "response" system is broken so instead of a debate yes I would like help...DOTA provides plenty of debates.

I'm afraid I am not familiar with DOTA, is that the Department of Treasury and Administration or are you referring to the Defense of the Ancients? Not really relevant but it was a curious statement.

The facts are that your account was temporarily suspended due specific activities that were detected on it. Now because of our actions your account was not completely stripped of all gold, items and characters, which I would think would be a worthy goal and hopefully appreciated.

I am sorry for what confusion or inconvenience this may have caused you, Slashmoo. I highly recommend that you take steps to secure your system as that is the most likely reason why the account was suspended the way it was, it was because we detected something that put your account in grave danger.

Q u o t e:
So by the presence in his account that means it became self aware and had to put down?

The wording was a little weird. I changed it a bit. :)
Q u o t e:

I'm all for you proactively going after attempts for stolen accounts but no response, no communication, and false positives aren't really what I would call productive.

You were sent an e-mail, an e-mail was sent to your registered address and gave the reason the account was suspended. I'm sorry that Account Administration has been unable to reply to you sooner, Slashmoo. In most cases they try to reply within 48 hours, that is their standard response time. Though depending on how many e-mails they have received that time can fluctuate.
Q u o t e:

I'd defiantly like to keep my account active and pay you moneys to play but if you are telling me how I have to setup my computer and network to access your servers that's kind of intrusive.

And we'd like to have you continue playing, Slashmoo, but it is important to note that in our continuing efforts to assist players in keeping their systems safe we may at times be in a position to detect malicious programs that may reside on their system.

From what I can see it looks like you may have some kind of trojan on your system. Hopefully you'll be able to find it and prevent any further delay in accessing the game.

Did you receive your reset password, Slashmoo?

If you did try logging into the game with that. If you did not try resetting your password at the link below.

http://www.worldofwarcraft.com/loginsupport/password.html

Once you are able to log into the game you should be able to log into the Account Management page and select a new password.

Alright, I think we have had enough fighting all around.

Hopefully whatever security issue that was originally detected has been removed.

Good luck all.
