I'm sorry, Abnagazar, but this isn't the complaints forum and many of the responses you've received thus far are in reaction to the tone of your posts. This is a forum for players to seek assistance with a variety of in-game issues, as stated by the very first sticky.

If you would like to see a change to how this quest works or that it is even offered you'll want to post in the Suggestion Forum. I understand that it may have been confusing giving the conflicting information that you apparently received from other players. I highly recommend reviewing some of the great fan sites out there, they have a wealth of information out there that can assist you.
It is unlikely that we'll be able to provide you reimbursement for the gold you have spent on the quest line, it never hurts to ask but I thought I would prepare you.
