So i have been hacked by a key logger which has caused me to reformat my computer twice in two weeks now. I go a few times a day to the blizzard store to see if they are no longer sold out but they still are. when is blizzard going to get more of these so that my account will no longer be hijacked?

Realericb, I show that your password was just reset after your reporting it as compromised. If you have gone through and reformatted your computer, twice no less, your system should be clean, mate. If you are really that intent on extra levels of security, for fear that your account information may be in the hands of the compromiser, I would suggest considering merging your account to a Battle.Net account. This gives you a chance to, in essence, change your Account Name, Secret Question / Answer and an entirely new password to be associated with these.

As for the Authenticator, we restock those regularly. They go back up on the Blizzard Store as soon as we get them in. Unfortunately I do not have information as to when these may come in at any time. If you are checking regularly, I would say that you have a very good chance of nabbing one of them when next we have them on sale.

Your last option, as Bomynè suggested, would be the Battle.net Mobile Authenticator, if you have an iPod Touch or an iPhone.

I know this is off topic, but I don't want to find/bump that thread from a couple nights ago, but Vrak or Auryk, will Blizzard be automatically unassociating Mobile Authenticators from accounts when 3.0 hits? Or is that up to the player to remember?

I don’t have any information on the iPhone OS 3.0 Software Update as of yet, Valalvax. I can poke around and try to find an answer for you within the next few days, if you would like.

Well, yesterday (I think) was the WWDC, I think they said it was going to be released the 17th, not real sure on that, but thanks for offering to look it up for me

I believe you are correct, in that it should be available June 17, mate. I'll do my best to get you an answer before then. :0)

My friends account was banned this morning and he believes his account was "Hacked" since the ban was placed on him when he was sleeping ( Australian time zone). Apparently 4th time this has happened to him. Anyway my question was does anyone know how often the Blizz store restocks these authenticators? I read monthly before but I was sceptical.

4 times?

Your friend really, really needs to find out where his security breech is. Authenticators come into stock as often as we can get them, but they often sell out very quickly.

Well I ask you this. In your opinion do you believe that with the acquisition of an authenticator would this solve his issues? Sorry if this isn't in the spirit of the thread but do you know any links or tips in checking for keyloggers?

For keyloggers, the information in this sticky is useful.

If his accounts are ever used on any other systems, even if it is to just log into the forums - THOSE systems could be suspect.

His email could be compromised.

He could have a physical breech, no firewall - unsecure wireless, little brother, roommate.

Many ways this can happen, but the fact it has repeated needs immediate attention. Most systems have far more valuable information on them than just this and folks that do this sort of thing WILL get anything they can lay their hands on.

You didn't answer the question about the authenticator. But thank you very much for the help you have given. I'll let him know about the thread.

An Authenticator would protect his WoW account - yes, but at 4 compromises, there are other issues he really needs to be concerned with.
