Adventures in office horticulture.

I now have a handful of Chorisia speciosa seedlings that just sprouted =3. I wasn't expecting 'em to make it, so now I have no idea where to transplant them or how to go about keeping the wee buggers alive.

Keep them in a sunny place and water regularly. As they grow and get stronger, transplant them into larger containers. I'm pretty sure that if you trim them regularly, you should be able to control the growth (similar to a bonsai). And if not, plant them in the middle of the night some where on Blizz's grounds.

That's the plan (minus ninja planting). I don't think they'll take readily to bonsai, but I plan to try to bonsai all my little seedlings.

As to where I got them? Why, from the fluffy pod of a Chorisia speciosa, of course (which is incredibly soft. They should be called kitten trees)! I also have a Jacaranda seedling, but those are far more common. I have some Banyan seeds in the dirt now, and I'm going to try an African baobab when the weather gets a bit warmer.

Oh, and don't mind the fact that Dave's a woman now. I'm still a man *roar*.

I'm doing well.

How ya doing, hon? You look pretty today.

I'm really late to comment on this... but...

Mal.... Baobab?

Yep! Though I'm foolishly going to try to bonsai one. Good luck to me =/.

I think they're beautiful, and full of personality. I need to find a way to keep it warm though. Maybe a tiny heated tree sock.
