What ever happened to Tigole and Kalgan?

I remember seeing QQ posts about them all the time but now they don't seem to be anywhere. Now all the QQ posts have moved to Ghostcrawler. Did Tigole and Kalgan switch departments or do they just not post anymore?

Tigole did switch over to help in the development of the unannounced MMO. Kalgan is still around, but is very busy these days and doesn't have as much time to post on the forums. He's a very valuable asset to us for insight and information and has a great team of people working with him to really bring some great things to World of Warcraft in the coming months/years. :)

Tigole still playin' WoW?

Absolutely. We still see him lingering around in the WoW development area quite often. He remains an avid WoW player and source of reference for all of us. :)

That's what we say about the old guy here at work that no gives any real work to, we're just waiting on him to retire so we can close his position.

I'll admit, I chuckled. It's not like that though. Kalgan is the go-to guy, even if only to track down the most appropriate developer for a given topic.

Do you and the other customer relations type folks ever go and gank him?

Jeff Kaplan is one of the coolest, nicest, and most reasonable people I've ever had to work with. Given his knowledge of games and design though, he still frightens me dearly. :p

And the real reason ret is still shat upon at every chance. He pay's GC to take the heat now though becuase he couldn't stand it anymore.

Hey Kalgan, We're FINE

Somewhere around the world right now, in solitude, there rests a face in the palm of a hand. To deconstruct any delicate aspect of game design such as class balance into matters of personal preference or opinion, is to disregard the realities of developing such a large and nuanced game with a team of hundreds.

I snorkled*. The whole "x is purposefully making [insert class/spec/feature here] horrible out of spite" meme seems also to miss the point of, you know, creating a good product that people will want to pay money for. I can only imagine Kalgan sitting in a dark room a few years ago, petting Mr. Bigglesworth and cackling about his grand plan to create a multi-million subscriber game for the sole purpose of jerking a fraction of those people around. That would be awesome.

*Snorkle: a cross between a snort and a chuckle.

Well just to be fair, he does sit ominously stroking a cat in every meeting I've been in with him. :p
