WoTLK Trial + Transfer + Refer A Friend

Hello,

I have a question regarding the WoTLK trial and the paid character transfer service.

Basically, me and my b/f are looking to level up alts and want to get the refer a friend xp bonus for super duper fast leveling :D

Our alts are currently level 24 and we would rather not "reset" them to avoid transfer fee....

My question is....is it possible to transfer a character from a WoTLK account to an account with the WoTLK trial active? Basically, I'm wondering if its possible to use Refer a Friend to get another account and use the trial to get WoTLK and if we can level before the trial expires be able to use the Refer a friend without having to buy another copy of the game, just the character transfers :)

Anyone know if this is possible? I'm assuming its perfectly acceptable as per the ToS as the account would be played by the same person and in the same persons name, etc :)

You are only able to transfer a character from a Wrath of the Lich King account if the destination account is also upgraded to the Wrath of the Lich King. I'm afraid that the trial does not count towards this restriction.

What happens if you transfer a character to another account that has the bound to account shoulders?

Do they just get deleted?

Nope! The item will be transferred along with the character, but it is only able to be traded between characters on the new account.

You would need to purchase another copy of Wrath of the Lich King as well as a single transfer, correct?

Or did you both purchase a new account to take advantage of the Recruit-a-Friend promotion?

It's important to keep in mind that you do not have to stop with just one character. I've heard of cases where players level several characters to 60 well before their Recruit-a-Friend link expired. :)

Ultimately, the decision is entirely your own -- so do what's best for you!
