Regarding Paid Character Transfers.

Blizzard Post
The Paid Character Transfer service should now be available for normal use; please be aware, however, that due to the current demand being placed on the queue, it may take longer for pending transfers to be approved than would typically be the case. Your continued patience is appreciated in light of any delays that may occur as a result of the recent downtime experienced by the service. Although we shall be monitoring performance, please also keep us apprised of any systemic issues that arise to impede the functionality of Paid Character Transfers as a whole.

It has come to our attention that a small percentage of players may encounter an error when attempting to initiate individual transfers; this should not be taken as an indication that the service, in and of itself, is experiencing further concerns. Should you find yourself thus affected, your best course of action is to contact Billing at your earliest convenience during normal business hours, so that further troubleshooting may be offered.

In all, folks, thank you for your understanding while this matter was investigated and resolved; we shall continue to serve you in your efforts. :)

If you feel that may be advantageous, you're welcome to try canceling and initiating the transfer again. :)

Q u o t e:
the email i have registered to my account was closed, do i NEED to use the conformation email during the approval process or can i just confirm the transfer through the transactions page?

It isn't necessary to click the link in the "confirmation" e-mail; it's merely a notification. The Transactions page shall suffice. :)

Q u o t e:
You've graciously deflected the flames for thirty pages, and are still capable of being picky?

Who said anything about being picky? I was merely curious whether you had a particular variety in mind. :P

Q u o t e:
Are the rest of our guildmates - the fortunate ones whose transfers were *after* ours - better off waiting before they try (and fail) to finalize the transfer, or are we all stuck until Monday?

I see no harm in trying to finalise the transfers once they've been approved, especially since any individual issues with the service shall need to be addressed by Billing on Monday; I would therefore advocate against waiting, though the decision is ultimately theirs. I wish them the best. :)

It's 2am... How about slice and bake chocolate chip? ;)

Sounds delicious, though you should probably go to bed. :P

I got 1 more question before I go, say I finalized my transfer twice...will I be charged twice on my CC...

I'm afraid I cannot offer any definitive answers regarding billing matters; you may wish to consult your bank.

It is not showing I have any characters on the server I am trying to transfer from, Archimonde.

If this is the account in question, I show you as having no characters above level 1 on Archimonde. :)

It is not the account I am posting from, however when I login to the game the character is not there either, and I am the only one with the password, and I did not delete it.

Can you offer the name and realm of a character on the affected account? I'd like to give the matter a cursory glance. :)

the name is Weth on Archimonde..level 62 human paladin. it also just let me create a character with the same name there...this is weird, do i need to fill out a ticket?

Have you recently attempted to transfer the paladin in question, Reddie? If so, would it have been a realm-to-realm or account-to-account?

please respond...this is scary

If you believe that a character may have been transferred without your accord, Weth, I would strongly recommend filling out the Paid Character Transfer Abuse webform linked below; that way, Account Administration may conduct further investigation to determine how best to proceed. :)

are you showing the character on a different account?

The character appears to have been transferred; if you didn't initiate the transfer, that webform is your best course of action. :)

Resources available to me as a result of my position; I'd still recommend using the webform. :)

well thanks for your advice...a GM was able to restore it and never mentioned it being transfered anywhere...not sure how it got deleted, but its back now i guess thats all that matters.

I'm glad to hear that the matter's been resolved to your satisfaction, Weth; my apologies for any confusion which may have arisen. :)

Q u o t e:
Can a transfer still be canceled once its green and ready to finalize? Ive been trying to cancel this transfer but keep getting this error "An error has occurred while attempting to cancel the transfer. Please try again later." Can it still be canceled or is it too late?

I have a couple green transfers, awaiting finalisation, and am able to cancel them at the link below. Can I have you confirm whether that works? :)

No Pav, that doesn't work.

"An error has occurred while attempting to cancel the transfer. Please try again later."

Is what I got.

I was just able to cancel both of my approved transfers without issue in Firefox, so the service itself seems to be functioning normally; which web browser are you using, and is it up-to-date? Have you tried clearing your cookies and cache, restarting the program, and attempting again? :)

thanks for the insta-censor Pav I assumed all 12 year olds were sleeping by noe ( 2am cst) if you can assure me i wont be billed for the 2 transfers that are pending until at least MONDAY I'll cancel my account and play some solitaire.... this is [censored].

It was my fervent hope that you would learn to conduct yourself more courteously, but alas, it seems you need some time to cool off. :)

Not only did i clear cookies, cache and temp files.

I tried it in IE, Fire Fox, AND Safari. And same thing each time.

Then I'm afraid I can only conclude that your individual transfer is experiencing an issue, for which I am truly sorry; it shall still be necessary for you to pursue the matter further with Billing on Monday morning, however, inconvenient though I realise it may be. I sincerely wish you the best. :)

Pavonum, any chance i can get a response to this, its starting to get irritating. on the character-transfer page where you select the characters and the realms, it has my toon listed, under available transfer it says "awaiting transfer" and to the right of that is the check status box, when i check the transaction status, it just says something about "here you can view all past and pending character transfer's" and has the restrictions and disclaimers. help would be appreciated.

It can sometimes take a little while for pending transfers to appear on the Transactions page, Woor, but if the issue continues to persist, you'll need to speak with Billing (preferably by phone, although e-mail shall work as well) on Monday. May Fortune smile on you, in any case. :)

Q u o t e:
well. how long is awhile? i mean.. i first tried to transfer at 12am on friday, and we all know how that went. my character has been locked since then, and i have not been able to play. i mean, i think its rather excessive that i have to wait till monday to get this issue resolved, as i am (have) basically payed for 4 days of time, and was not able to play.

I can certainly understand your consternation, but please understand that the Game Master Department -- whose representatives act as moderators for this forum -- has no involvement in the Paid Character Transfer service, and therefore cannot provide any direct assistance.
