Fix. Retribution. Now.

I am sick of being told I cannot participate in a raid just because of my talent specialization. I am sick of joining raiding guilds for a month and then being gkicked because I won't respec to tank or heal. I am sick of being called retnoob, retardin, and dumadin. I am sick of being told that I am a waste of pally space, that just because I CAN be top healer I should be, and that I can't dps worth my life. I am sick of the constant gimping of Retribution, and most of all I am sick of people refusing to believe I am any good in raids at all.

Some of you players out there may say "QQ more retardin ret is a solo spec"... Okay, fine, we'll keep Retribution gimped, as long as Druids get THEIR dps tree screwed up, as long as Warriors get THEIR dps tree screwed up, and as long as priests get THEIR dps tree screwed up. Paladins and Druids are the only class with a dps, tank, and heal tree, so who decided Druids would be able to dps well with their tree while Paladins cannot?

Other players may say "lol you shoulda rolled a rogue newb"... This was my first WoW character. I made this guy when I first started playing WoW. I didn't know then that my choice of class/spec would be setting me up for hours every day of nothing but disrespect, insults, and refusal to allow me to participate. Hell, I only found out a lot of people hate retribution at around level 65 (don't ask me how it took that long, I don't know). At that point I wasn't going to reroll a rogue or a druid or a warrior and spend months leveling him up because I can't log on for 8 hours every day like a lot of you.

I implore you, Blizzard, fix Retribution! Help us cast off the shackles of other players' contempt, and finally make us a welcome addition to the raid or party environment! I have a few suggestions for abilites that would finally give Retribution the viability it deserves, they are posted in the suggestions thread here:

Retribution is going to be looked at. In particular we're taking a look at sustained DPS in a Raid and more Raid utility. Beyond that though, I don't have anymore particulars to share with you at this point in time.

I can account for the pain that a Retribution Paladin can dish out due to an unfortunate meeting in Skettis one day.

Q u o t e:

That wasn't a Ret paladin, it was a monstrous kaliri.

I haven't died to a Monstrous Kaliri yet. (Knocks on Wood) It was definitely a Pally. I won't resort to "I was low mana, engaged with a mob" or anything else. I got killed. I ressed, tried to seek out the enemy, didn't find them, moved on and waited for someone new to take vengeance on. ;)

i heard something about shamans getting a look see, is that still in the works too?

I posted on the Shaman forum last week that we are looking at Enhancement a bit to see what we can do there, however, I don't have any details of what is going to be done, when, or how much will be done at this time.

Hunters are also in the radar as far as their feedback being taken into consideration. I just don't have anything inparticular to share as far as what could happen or when it could happen.

I've also stated before that we are making minor improvements and changes to the classes as we go along right now and are not planning any major revamps. That tends to get a lot of knee-jerk reaction from people who take it to mean that there are no plans to make changes or the complete opposite reaction of "How come you change 'x'? That was major!" What is major to some is minor to others as we all have seen evidenced on the forums.

What is important to take into account is that change will always be ongoing in both small and big ways. Obviously expansions are one of the big ways that things can change as far as additions to the game go and incremental changes to spell damage or skill abilities to live gameplay are the small changes. We need to keep thinking ahead on many levels. We are focused on the now, the future, and still continually learning from the past. If we had the power of Nozdormu to command in reality this would be a bit easier.

hey neth any answer on the van single pull yet?

Unfortunately, nothing that I can share with anyone at this point in time. I did talk a little about AV in a post yesterday as far as that we are aware of people's feelings about AV and the concerns about what the future for AV holds.

You can start a new thread if you wish so that this one isn't derailed anymore than it has been, but I don't have more for you right now.

Edit: Hi, Neth! /wave /smile Hope you're having a good day.

Apparently, I need more sleep as is apparent in my previous error. When they come for me with the tar and feathers, just no flash photography.

You were looking to take vengeance on someone solo with a Holy/Disc priest? Or were you on one of your other characters?

Disc/Holy and I do quite well thanks.

I also never said "Ret is fine because they killed me" as someone else in this thread tried to paraphrase me as saying. Putting words down I never said ends up like the game of telephone and some really strange things start getting posted as fact.
