Q u o t e:
I don't think it's the case that paladins don't care about regen. I think it's the case that they don't care about what we would call regen stats, namely MP5 and Spirit. Currently they probably over-value Int and crit. That is a potential problem because it means other healers have to spend part of their stat allocation on those stats while paladins can just stack crit (which also makes their heals bigger) and Int (which also improves their mana pool, as well as their crit).
We haven't made any changes to Illumination or Replenishment at this point in time. We need to see some of the less bleeding-edge expert guilds try hard modes, where by most accounts mana regen starts to matter very much.

Crit does not make heals bigger (In a reliable way for healers).
Healing is not like DPS where your average heal(DPS) is what matters, the consistency of the heal is what matters and even with 50%+ crit you cannot rely on a crit for increase healing output. Crit is a regen stat for Holy Paladins, thank you.
Edit. I disagree that Paladins overvalue Crit and Int, simply we undervalue Mp5 and Spirt, because they are woeful for us. If FoL was a spell we could cast for a significant portion of our healing, or if Holy Light didn't cost such a gigantic amount of mana Mp5 would be valuable again.
Also, I never wanted to imply crits are not useful for healing, simply that it is less useful than if instead of getting crits, crit increased ones healing to the average amount healed by both crits and non-crits.
