Possible Solution to Paladin OP'ness

This is just a suggestion, and one that I think should be looked into. Considering Paladins do incredible damage as Ret, and amazing survivability with their powerful heals and Bubble, I think rather then nerf the paladin damage, blizzard should re work the bubble concept to be more in line with DKs damage reduction abilities.

Paladins are the ONLY class in the game that have an ability that makes them completly immune to ANY attack for several seconds while still doing damage (bubble). And quite franctly it's not right. Dks abilities only reduce damage taken by a percentage while under the effects of abilities like Icebound Fortitude, Anti magic shield etc... So pallies bubble should work the same way. I think re working the paladin bubble to reduce damage taken by a percentage for the same duration would solve many pvp prolems without making them useless. Keep paladin damage the same, just change the bubble mechanics.

At the same time, have a bit more desicion making in the process. If the paladins uses the bubble that allows him to continue attacking, then have that bubble reduce damage by percentage rather the complete immunity. If the paladin chooses to use the second bubble that does not allow him to continue attacking, then have THAT one provide full immunity to attacks while he heals. This will give more of a strategy based class.

Bubble 1: Reduces damage taken by percentage but attacks continue
Bubble 2: Completly immune to attack but cannot attack any target for duration of bubble

Make the paladin have to decide which is better in different pvp scenarios, reduce damage and continue attacking or, completely shield himself so he can heal up.

This could allow pallies to maintain their burst damage, retribution aura etc, without getting those nerfed. The only op issue is the bubble in my opinion and this would solve it and make paladin bubbles more in line with DK reduction abilities.

For those paladins who are opposed to this idea ask yourself this, would you rather get the nerf bat on your damage and auras like blizzard has been talking about, or simply have your bubble mechanics altered? Your choice

Q u o t e:
Burst is op at 70, but it will be ok in the future at 80
Burst is op at 80, but it will be ok when everyone has x resilience
now its; they are changing ret in 'a future patch'

Burst is going to be high when characters just hit max level but haven't upped their resilience yet. We don't think burst is a problem in PvP right now. We do think the Ret "rotation" is problematic. You essentially have a spec without a meaningful resource (Rets generally don't run out of mana) with attacks that are entirely cooldown-controlled, which allows them to be front-loaded. The bubble is certainly powerful along with dispels and things like Freedom.

Q u o t e:
You, like everyone who is crying about ret paladins, have missed the memo;

They are changing the way ret paladins fight in a future patch.

Threads like these are meaningless.

I'm of two minds here. Yes, it is frustrating when players keep starting new threads on issues when we've already said we understand, agree and will address the issue. On the other hand, it's certainly fine even in those circumstances to offer your two cents on how you think we should address the issue.

"Blue, this is a problem."

Not so helpful if we've already acknowledged that fact.

"Blue, here is why this is a problem or a potential way to fix it."

More useful.
