Ok, so this is kind of bizarre. I just got the following email this morning...

Q u o t e:
****Notice of Account Closure****

Account Name: [Removed]

Account Action: Closure
Reason for Action: Terms of Use Violation - Economy Exploitation

After a thorough investigation, we have found that a player of the account listed above participated in activities designed to gain an unfair advantage in the World of Warcraft economy.

These activities violate the World of Warcraft Terms of Use. We ask that you take a moment to review these terms at http://www.worldofwarcraft.com/legal/termsofuse.html.

You may not perform any acts that we consider to be damaging to World of Warcraft. A stable economy is essential for any realm to be successful. Any attempts to manipulate the economy in exploitive ways can have a large negative impact on many players.

This World of Warcraft account has been closed by the Account Administration staff based on a review of the account and all related policy violations.

This action has been taken in accordance with the Terms of Use and our In-Game Policies (http://us.blizzard.com/support/article/20309). Any recurring subscriptions on this account have been suspended to prevent further monetary charges.

Only the Account Administration department can address disputes or questions you may have about this account action. To learn more about how we are able to assist you, please visit us at http://us.blizzard.com/support/article/21505.

That isn't, of course, this account (my main account), but the account in question, [Removed], was only ever active for a month or so. I created it to do RAF with a friend in early October of '08 and bought the battlechest to activate it past the 10 day trial. I'm fairly sure that it became frozen in November of '08 because I never paid for more time past the free 30 days from purchasing the game.

I leveled a troll hunter, Madera on Kil'jaeden, with the RAF stuff to the mid-40s, but that's about it. I know I didn't "exploit the economy", unless selling herbs to buy a mount in against the TOS :p. I also tried to transfer a character off of this account, Hylian of Kil'jaeden (currently deleted), to [Removed]during the character transfer fiasco in October, so that transfer was never finalized. I'm not sure if that might have anything to do with it.

I don't really care about the account since I don't use it anymore, but I'm really at a loss for why it got banned after 6 months of being frozen, let alone the reasoning behind it.

Maybe you guys got the wrong guy? If not, some further explanation would be greatly appreciated.

They would've had to reactivate the account if they were going to spam Orgrimmar or something.
This is known to happen. =/
