It's 3pm..... ~_~"

It's not like I'm physically angry or fuming with rage over this or anything, but I do think this is slightly offensive.
I understand that you can't account for everyone playing in different timezones, but why are ALL the Oceanic servers down? I'm trying to see the common sense in this. I don't get it!?

Unfortunately, these realms and many other realms are undergoing substantial hardware modifications. We understand that this may be inconvenient, but our goal is to make certain that these realms continue to be capable of delivering service at a very high level.

I'm grateful for upgraded hardware! I really am!! And I don't even mind maintenance, it eliminates WoW for one night which is great.

But couldn't you have added that extra 4 hours onto the back of usual maintenance time, instead of the front? That would be much more logical.

Unfortunately, we aren't able to add that 4 hours to the end of the maintenance schedule due to personnel and hardware conflicts.

Crygil,

I don't mind my server is going through extended maintenance, but can we expect any sort of observable improvement in gameplay as a result? Are these realms going through extended maintenance to address a specific issue or just overall tune-up type deals?

We're currently working on realm performance, particularly in the area of instances. This is just a step - we're doing a great deal of fine tuning. Future updates may have further tuning which, when added together, will result in an overall improved gameplay experience.
