He has absolutely no idea how this game works.

If you aren't 'entirely' convinced of something maybe you should go play the game you guys design.

One of the worst Lead Designers/CM in history of wow. In some ways, fangtooth would have done a better job.

EDIT: spelling errors, in before the ban. GC title correction.

One of the most powerful arguments you read on these forums follows the logic "I disagree with you, therefore you are dumb."

What is even more interesting is you appear to hold as fact or at least widespread consensus that PvP burst is too high, while writing off all the players who disagree with you as dumb too.

We think burst was too high in the previous season. That was because players were dying quickly before they could even respond or counter. If you go into an Arena match today and die, that does not mean burst is too high. Don't confuse dying and burst. Remember, you are probably going to lose about half your matches. That's the way the matchmaking system works. That doesn't mean the system is broken just because you don't win a lot. :)

There are situations in which one class can burst another down too quickly. There are also situations in which crowd control or healing are too dominant. We are trying to clamp those down when they get out of control. But "ZOMGBURST" is so last season.

You're allowed to disagree with us of course. But do it in a professional way. Insulting us isn't going to get us to change anything, will probably make other posters laugh at you, and will ultimately get you banned. Ask yourself if your few seconds of venting are really worth it.

One question I have about your last paragraph....Have you ever looked in to banning the idiot trolls that clutter the constructive posts that are giving great feedback? There are plenty of people that provide you with outstanding feedback only to get laughed at.

We probably ban a lot more people than you realize. We just don't often do the head-on-a-stake thing so that you realize it's going on. Even with a moderate level of banning though, a lot of players misunderstand or misrepresent where the line was crossed, and the whole forum experience gets dragged through the mud as our being overzealous or totalitarian.

The key to having a good community is just to having a good community. If you ignore the trolls, they tend to go away because they are only here to get a rise out of you.

Or think of how fast matches are between 2v2 or 3v3 all DPS teams.

The fights may be fast, but you'd think if they were that effective that there would be more of them at high ranks.

Q u o t e:
A lot of people complain about the wrong thing, or are perhaps wording or understanding it wrong. I can tell you that the people on my f-list, vent discussions, and guild chat are all complaining about the same thing in lich king: the pvp is too much gib, not enough thought or skill involved. And we're not talking about just the arena.

I guess I have trouble following how both burst and healing (which you said in your post) can be too high. Can you explain?

The problem I'm having here is that a lot of players are saying "OMG GC said burst isn't too high," but then you find out they were actually talking about melee vs. casters being too good, or non-DR CC being too good or something else and then calling that "burst."

Yep he just locked my warlock thread telling me to post somewhere else because it wasn't the best approach and of course he never anwsered the question.

You started a thread asking for a response (to an existing thread no less) when we say over and over again not to that. We also ask you not to go post about locked threads either, and here you are still talking about how I didn't answer the question. You need to take a short break from posting here until you can play by the rules.

Talk about your class. If you've said what you came to say, then your job is done. Don't fish for blue responses. Don't get angry when you don't get a blue response. Don't give us a hard time about where and when we post. Don't be insulting. Don't keep bumping threads. Don't keep launching new threads on the same topic. It's really not that hard.

Q u o t e:
That is NOT THE GENERAL CONSENSUS. =/ STOP SPEAKING FOR ME. =/

BURST IS THE ONLY THING THAT BEATS "cleave" (god help me, quoteing ghostcrawler) teams.

You can't beat a healer as a team without a healer, unless you have burst.

Stop saying burst is the problem. Healer + DPS is dominating. The game is designed for Healers to be 20% of the population. Therefore, only 20% of the teams can have a healer. You can not force everyone to suffer and have low ratings just because they got to all the healers first. =/

Double DPS must be capible of becoming the #1 team, just as healers have always held that spot. =/

If everyone PvPed ... only 20% of the teams would have a healer on them. That's how it works. You can't just say those 20% are automaticly the best. It's not fair. Burst is not the problem. The problem is Ret Paladins wearing full PvE gear because healers are so overpowered that they LET them wear full PvE gear, so they're doing 5,000 DPS against you in arena. It's a -healer- issue.

Double-DPS needs more synergy. Warlock Fear needs to be OFF diminishing returns with Blind.

Priest diminishing returns? Needs to be -on- the blind DR.

Repentance? Needs to be on the Priest fear DR... but not on DR with blind.

Sap? Needs to be on DR with fear.

Look at the issues, and the teams that dominate? Everyone is just looking at the teams and saying: "Waaaaah, they killed me." and saying that every time they die, it's burst. Yes, sometimes you get bursted -- but it's largely DPSers that are COMPLAINING about burst.. because all the guys who run with healers are wearing Ulduar 25 gear. >_<;

I'm going to quote Helgamore here (even the "cleave" jab). We just don't think there is a widespread consensus that burst is out of control this season.

"I died" does not mean burst is too high, and even in the complete absence of burst, you are still going to lose a lot of matches unless you are at the top of your bracket.

There are situations where one character can do too much damage to another too quickly. There are also situations where players can't stop healers from healing or when people are CC'd too much. There are situations were all of your CC get dispelled while none of the other team's can be. Those are all, we feel, legit problems that we intend to solve.

You're just going to confuse everyone if you are trying to say "Arena isn't 100% balanced" by saying "lolburst."

Q u o t e:
Now, is this a problem with healing? Is this a problem with damage? Is it a problem with the classes in general? Maybe it's all three, maybe it's only one of them.

But it would be unfair to take both statements about burst and healing and simply trying to apply them generally and dismiss the playerbase as being wrong.

Okay, then my advice is to argue what the actual problems are instead of saying "burst is too high."

Q u o t e:

Heals designed to heal through bosses hitting tanks for 10-20k every swing/cast being used in PvP against players who deal 2-6k damage every swing/cast. That's the problem.

Keep in mind the role that raid buffs play, as well as PvP gear spending stat points on things like resilience and spell pen. Your point is not invalid, but PvE numbers tend to be higher across the board.
