Can't grant levels?

Sorry guys, this is my first time on the WoW Forums and I am not sure if this is where I am supposed to be or whatnot, but anyway.

I have recruited my friend, he is level 28 and I am 48. I am the Veteran account. We've got the summon link when I open up friends, but when we are near each other, we do not get 300% experience nor, I or he can not grant levels. Please help me out.

Also, is it he who can grant levels or me?

The recruit grants levels to the veteran.

This FAQ should prove helpful. I believe you'll find your level differences are the issue.
