With the major nerf to Jewelcrafting incoming it clearly butchers what was the main appeal of the dragon's eye cuts, the prismatic quality.

Now I could easily QQ and say amg blizz you suck gg, but no, I won't. Instead I have an idea for a change to balance it.

Remove the prismatic quality, but change the unique equipped from 3 to 4. This would make the JC profession stay worthwhile, particularly once epic gems come out.

As of right now a runed stormjewel provides 23 spell power. The runed dragon's eye provides 32. Clearly the runed dragon's eye is superior, especially once you add in three. Three runed dragon's eye add up to 96 spell power, while 3 runed storm jewels only equal 69.

However, assume that all epic jems will have this value, as the amani gems were epic quality and are the predecessor to this.

If a person has Blacksmithing that gives them 2 free sockets. Two runed epic gems that go in there add up to 46. And voila the blacksmiths have a greater amount of spell power from the addition of those two sockets. Now the difference is 115 spell power compared to 96, a difference of 19, basically a free runed scarlet ruby.

Sorry what is most likely a revival of much crying, but when I saw the jewelcrafting change after being out of town for a week, it just struck me as rough. Anyways, flame on, provide suggestions how to improve this, or do whatever. :)

The changes to Jewelcrafting listed in this thread: http://forums.worldofwarcraft.com/thread.html?topicId=17345044964&pageNo=1&sid=1#0 are meant to balance the profession out a bit so we have no plans to introduce changes that will have it once again provide more benefit than other professions.

Please continue to post in the thread I linked if you have any constructive feedback on the topic. Thanks!
