Why is Garrosh > Saurfang?

I can understand the immense amount of reverence that any Orc would have for Grom Hellscream, but why does Saurfang permit his son to be so obnoxious?

Didn't Garrosh raise his weapon at Thrall before the WotLK release? Even if it was in a proper duel, why does Garrosh go from being weepy emokid to dare challenging Thrall? High Overlord Saurfang, Commander of the Might of Kalimdor, should have put that whelp in his place.

I know it's all setup for patch 3.x, when Garrosh goes insane and becomes a raid boss, but come on now..
