What do you mean exactly? Housing prices are definitely affordable here; there's a lot of nice places that are much cheaper here than they would be in California.

Cost of living is certainly lower; I hope you can understand that I can't really go into specifics of my personal expenses. ^_^
I see quite a number of job offers, and "we're hiring" signs around so I'm sure there's a decent market; especially since Austin really is a college town. I'm afraid that I haven't had much of a need to search around. ;)
