"So do I yell at the tank, or the healer?"

So I ran Nexus about 2 nights ago on a PuG. It went absolutely swimmingly, save for the DK who looted the blue SP bracers (who, after realizing it, gave me some gold to compensate). I was pleasantly surprised, and rather proud that only the Rouge & shadow priest died in the walk over to the Tree Shaper.

But today, I thought about it- should the MT normally be dying at all? In every other Wrath 5-man I've done, there's at least 1 wipe; they were all PuGs, but still.

I'm wondering if these wipes are my fault.

First the tank dies. Then, if I'm lucky, a DPS that held more aggro than me dies. That's not often the case, though.
But when I'm healing, the group's health fluctuates like crazy. Not only that, I'm going OOM like nuts! 3 times on average- that doesn't sound normal to me.

That didn't happen on the last Nexus run. Like I said, only 2 Redemptions happened, and I went OOM only after boss fights.

So, to sum up this ridiculously long post: if I'm barely keeping the group alive, is it my fault or the tank's? I ask not because I want to blame anyone; I want to know if I'm responsible and what I need to do to fix the problem.

Please, Healing forums; you're my only hope.

edit: changed title, came up with a better one.

To answer your actual question, I would suggest trying to organize a run with a very good tank. Maybe it's a friend who is just doing you a favor, or maybe you just lucky with your pugs.

Make sure their gear isn't crazy better than the people you normally run with and then just compare.

Good tanks know how to minimize damage and maintain threat. They generally have the tools. However it depends a lot on the situation. If the tank is constantly having to bail out dps who are pulling aggro or breaking CC, then they aren't going to be at the top of their game with regard to staying alive or controlling the mobs.

But the gear is key. Good tank gear can trivialize a 5-player run so you have to make sure it's the effects of skill you are seeing. Good tanks are amazing though. They can sometimes win fights when the healer is OOM or dead.
