Buying Game Cards ingame

Lately I have been seeing a lot of people in trade chat advertising to sell 60 day game cards for gold. I was wondering if it was within the "rules" to purchase these game cards with gold. In addition it is not uncommon to see people selling things from the TCG for gold.

I am aware buying accounts, selling accounts, buy/selling gold are all "illegal", but for some reason this seems different to me.
Can anyone tell me if it is allowed for players to buy game cards from other players in exchange for gold?

While unsupported, selling the loot code used in-game to redeem an in-game reward from the collectible card game is not considered in violation of our policies at this time. Selling a gametime code in-game, however, is in violation of our policies as this is not an in-game transaction; please refrain from participating in such transactions.

Q u o t e:
Just to help clear up some confusion for you Kybeorie, regarding TGCs, here is the process for redeeming an item:

1) Have card.
2) Get physical code from card.
3) Go to a website listed on the card.
4) Enter physical code on the website.
5) Website gives you virtual code.
6) Enter virtual code in-game to receive item.

As such, there are two codes for one item. One code is physical (on the card), the other code is virtual (from the website).

Each code is handled differently in regards to real life money and in-game gold.

The physical code is handled as a physical item and can only be traded with real physical money.

The virtual code is handled as a virtual item and can only be traded with virtual in-game gold.

Game cards are a different matter as there is only one code and it is only taken from the card and entered on a website. They are not entered in-game.

This is correct; however, I believe the issue at hand is Kybeorie feels that this leaves loopholes to sell in-game gold for real-world currency.

I completely understand your concern and I encourage you to voice any suggestions you may have on the Suggestions Forum, Kybeorie.

Thanks!
