Wife.

1) Wife's WoW suscription ended like a week ago. Her character had like 2k gold.

2) WoW Tokens came out. I decided I'd give her one as a gift. As she was unable to log in with her main toon, she logged her low-level blood elf priest.

3) I sent that toon 30k gold with a mail, so she could buy a WoW Token.

4) That's it. I derped. "Trial" accounts cannot use mailboxes. They cannot trade either. My 30k gold are now lost in the twisting nether and wife never got the gift.
