**GREAT IDEA** Making PvP Gear A LOT better!

People seem to be confused by this. What I'm suggesting would not make pvp gear damage seem like pve gear damage, but exactly the opposite. People having full pvp gear would not have their damage changed, but people in pve gear would be doing the same damage as people in pvp gear on pvp targets.

This has probably come up before, but it's something that really should be changed.

Resilience should buff your own damage on pvp targets to the point that pvp gear will do just as much damage as pve gear on a pvp target. To make up for this, resilience should reduce more damage than it does. This makes pvp gear better for pvping for classes such as melee, and pve gear will still remain better for pveing.

This also makes balancing a lot easier to manage when people in pvp gear are getting nerfed because people in pve gear are doing unhealable damage. This is also a fix that does not disallow pve gear from being used in pvp, and I can't see any reason not to implement this.

This is just one step in the right direction.

Thoughts?

Q u o t e:
1. Resilience becomes even more important than it is now for casters and other classes that already have to stack resil.

2. This creates a HUGE hurdle for alts and players who havent collected enough resil gear to compete with people ahead of them on gear.

The benefit of PvE gear being able to perform in a mediocre fashion in PvP is that players have 2 ways to collect the gear necessary to compete in Arenas or BGs. If they implemented your idea, there would have to be a massive ideology shift in terms of how entry-level 80s collect the gear necessary to compete in PvP, which would likely bring back the argument of "welfare epics".

Kind of agree with Zeckk here. One of the problems we had last season (and the first season when you think about it) was that you need a minimum threshold of resilience to really be viable. A change like this would only make that curve steeper. Having 1000 resilience would be even more powerful than having 500 resilience.

We do want PvE gear to be a decent substitute until you can collect enough PvP gear. The PvE gear was too dominant in some cases in the previous season, we think because:

-- When everyone's resilience is low, doing damage quickly becomes even more important, so gear that doesn't "waste" stats on resilience become more optimal.

-- PvE gear from Naxx, particularly the KT weapons, were easier to collect than the PvP equivalents. That isn't going to be as true in this season because Ulduar is more challenging and the higher item level weapons from PvE are going to be even less accessible.
