GC, there may be a disconnect w/ hunters

GC,

I was reading your post and with every sentence I read I became more disillusioned about the ability to play arenas as a hunter. According to your views and opinion, I got the feeling that you and your team don't see that much is wrong with the class' ability to play in arenas. Let's for one minute pretend that hunter representation is low and that there is not a large number of posts from players stating the that:

1. Our mobility has been hindered by the changes in trap mechanics.
2. Our DPS potential and ability to effectively kill and adversary in arenas has decreased given the buff to healers, the buff to melee classes and the fact that a big part of arena strategy revolves around LOS play style.
3. LOS play style by healers, coupled with our decreased damaged and ability to trap has made it impossible to significantly hinder healers.
4. The few defensive tools at our disposal are negated if not nullified by melee's ability to stay on our tail and train us or the healer.
6. Our ability to peel DPS from our healer is now impossible given that traps don't work effectively anymore, especially when we face a team with a paly or a warrior (most teams have one or the other).
6. Traps are a major issue for us and our #1 weakness. We rely on traps for cc, and as a form of defensive mechanism. However, if our traps are being resisted, dispelled and worst, their effects are negated, we don't have much left.
6. Stings are drained were the only tool we had against the LOS healing. Because we cannot effectively melee a healer running around pillars, we could at least sting and drain and switch to melee and force healer to spend mana healing. What is happening now is that our healers are running out of mana because we are taking so much damage from not being able to cc/control or in any way shape or form put pressure on the other healer. The other team's healers are cruising and dispelling since and melee range, there is not much for them to do other than cc my healer and make sure my partner don't drink.

All we want to to be able to play and enjoy arenas the way other classes do. There is no reason why we as hunters should be forced to play in the 3v3 and 5v5 bracket when we should have the tools to be competitive in the 2s bracket. You proved to us last season that it is possible to make hunters competitive at all brackets. If you feel our damage output was too high or too bursty, then feel free to nerf it, but I think you went too far when you also changed some of our defensive mechanics. In our current state, most healers chose to find partners who would ensure them better chances of success in arenas. The fact is that playing with a hunter in your team is a liability because you know that the class is weak at escaping and surviving melee. In 3v3 and 5v5, hunters are usually a punching bag and a liability for the team. If anything, at least fix our traps and give us something to counter freedom effectively.

I hope you get to read this and that it gets to the developers. I also hope this does not turn out into another useless post full of useless opinions and immaturity. I hope other hunters out there contribute to this post and reason with GC and the developers into finding a middle ground where we are given something to compete at all levels of arena and remain competitive.

Regards,

Hopeless Hunter

Guys, lets be constructive. If we want GC or blue to read on and listen, we have to do a better job on illustrating how their changes are affecting us. Post comments on how specific changes hinder us in pvp arenas.

Agreed. Make posts like the OP is asking for. The kind of posts that follow are the kind that will get a thread locked. These are QQ. They do not contribute to a discussion.

Q u o t e:
I've secretly been working on my priest for the past few months. However, there was an error with my calculations. I initially intended on hitting 80 at the height of priests being OP, but that may be fixed soon.

Q u o t e:
Do you seriously expect them to respond? GC did in one of the earlier threads. All i saw was a "fill in the blanks here for an uncaring trolling response".

Q u o t e:
I've given up on the Dev's ability to balance hunters correctly.

Q u o t e:

to parody GC, it's Don't bring the class, regardless of the player when it comes to hunters in arena.

Why even bother responding like that.

Stop acting like a kid, you are a grown up.

p.s Sometimes you act just like the trolls you seemingly despise.

I read hundreds of posts a day. Improving the quality of the posts here is a pretty big deal to me.
