Q u o t e:
Because this World of Warcraft account has been merged into a Battle.net account, you will need to use Battle.net Account Management for this account service.
Now, I am not here necessarily to complain about my friends account being hacked, but more in line with why has blizzard enabled hackers to use this new battle.net account merging thing to block players from retrieving their password in these type of situations. Is this an unintentional side effect of the new system that was simply overlooked, or is there simply just a piece of the puzzle I haven't seen yet that would explain this scenario?
The account in question was definitely not yet linked to any battle.net account, so it is obvious that the hacker knew this would block my friend from being able to reset their password.
