Zarhym, would it be considered wrong to purchase the internet stream purely for the pet...

If the pet is worth it to you, no. I truly do hope you'd choose to watch at least some of the coverage though. BlizzCons are a lot of fun, and there's a lot of good information being passed around. It's not too often that you get to see the leaders of each of our departments provide in-depth coverage of what they're working on, and what the iterative creation process is like. We have a lot of great information, events, and entertainment in store for BlizzCon viewers and attendees this year. :)

how do i order the stream?

edit: will you be going zar?

The streaming package is not yet available for order. We'll be sure to let you know when this happens. You can find information about it here:

http://www.blizzard.com/blizzcon/partners/directv.xml

Edit: Oh, and of course I'll be going. I'll likely be moderating some of our discussion panels and interacting with players, all the while taking on any odd tasks necessary to keep things flowing.

Will the stream be guaranteed to work?

I heard something about last time the stream didn't work half the time, and this year with an ungodly number of people purchasing it just for the armored murloc, and probably logging into it, its gonna be insane.

The stream to which you're referring was from our last Worldwide Invitational and was not operated by DIRECTV. They are aware of the likely demand and we're working closely with them to bring everyone watching from home, whether on the internet or on television, excellent coverage of the festivities. :D

Agreed, but I'm a bit disappointed that it's going to be significantly less rare than the previous Blizzcon in-game items.

I was already disappointed in how wide-spread the mount ended up being on my server, when far from most of those people were actually at the con. =\ Nothing I can say or do will change that, and that's fine - I'll enjoy my in-game stuff anyhow. But it would be nice to have a unique momento or signifier where I can whisper people and go, "Hey, did I see you at the con?"

Edit: Dagnabbit, Zarhym. Cut that out. /shakefist

There is something you will get that those watching from home will not, Eseten... the experience of being at BlizzCon again. ;)

Please don't hunt me down. I skeeerd.

Would you happen to know for Australian residents if Mainevent will be covering Blizzcon on PPV, coverage was excellent last year.

Q u o t e:
If more than one person in a household plays, or if someone has more than one account, will multiple streams need to be purchased?

We'll be putting together a Frequently Asked Questions page regarding the DIRECTV packages that should address questions such as these.

I tend not to watch live streams as they are often chaotic and uninteresting for long intervals. Maybe things have changed in the world of live streaming since I last checked but I can't really see how that's possible.

Do you guys plan to dress up your live streams with an MC and filler, or are we just going to be watching unedited human interaction at its finest?

I will say that there's been a lot of discussion around the company about this since last year. We want to make sure those watching from home don't feel isolated by down time, which is an entirely different experience compared to that of someone attending the event live.
